Predatory capitalism has aroused Bill Moyers to come out of retirement in the effort to take the country back from Bain Capital and return it to its people. His new show, Moyers and Company, premieres tonight on PBS. In this program announcement, Moyers uses the life of the iconic Woody Guthrie as a metaphor for the Rx needed to end our national sickness of income inequality. Enjoy, and be informed …

He and Jim Hightower deserve much more attention from the Democratic Party. If Grassroots Democrats had a voice and vote at who should be keynoting the 2012 DNC, I’d be voting for these two.

I’d sure vote for Moyers.

I really think DC has lost true touch with everyday Americans. Year after year our opinion of congress slips lower and lower. How you can represent the average american when your salary and position put you way above the average american.
Moyers recently commented on his show that the republican party is run by wall street and the democratic party in DC is afraid to work against wall street. You and I know the difference between an executive at Goldman and Sachs and an executive at your local credit union. Administration after Administration appoints these wall streeters and congress after congress aproves them.
Sometimes I am at a loss as to what exactly we do about this, I know campaign finance is one thing that is needed in the equation, but perhaps simpler and more fundamental structural changes are needed to Congress and the Presidency to help get big money out of governing and those that serve these interests.
